MILLER GOLF CLUB (2026)
General Rules, By-Laws and Sponsorship
*Miller Golf Committee (Craig Farmer, Rich Buentello, Charles Johnson & Chris Hawkins), Treasure Scott Nichols, Danny Pena (Handicaps).
*New members referrals. Each new member referral will earn you one free individual event for yourself and the new member (excluding 2 man and scrambles, EOY event & Top 25 event).
You can refer as many new members as you like and earn as many free events as you want.
*(4) levels of sponsorships- These sponsorships will help keep our entry fees down even though course rates have gone up significantly...in addition, it will put more money in our EOY tournament & Top 25
event.... We are hopeful we will also carry funds into 2027 as well so we can be prepared to hold entry fees down.
Sponsorship levels and reward: 1). $250.00 /Company sign at all events & 1 free event for member. 2) $500.00 /Company sign at all events & website marketing & 2 free events for member.
3). $1,000.00 /Company sign at all events & more visible website marketing, 4 free events for member.
4). $5,000.00 / Naming rights to the club, company sign at all events, more visible website marketing, member receives free entry into all individual events excluding year end and top 25. *If no one is able to land this sponsorship by Feb 26th, we will provide the same marketing package with the member receiving 10 free events for the first $3,000.00 sponsorship.
*2026 Golf Season*
1). Everyone, regardless of handicap will be using the same handicap system by the USGA (net double bogey).
2). Player Tee Box Change: anyone who wishes to change their tee box in 2026 will reestablish a new handicap, but they have a ceiling index with their current index until their new handicap is fully established after 3 rounds.
3). Anyone can play the Blue or White Tees... Red Tees will still only be for seniors (70+) or medical exemptions... Seniors will have their own flight, the (Red) medical exemptions will not participate in the senior flight.
4). Tee Boxes (2026) voted set tee boxes this year, Blue, White or Red or whatever color markers they have based on playing yardages set by committee. Blue (6500-6800), White (6000-6300) and Red (5200-5500).
5) Putt out was not received well/ discontinued moving forward. 6). Speed up time: Handicap 10 stroke limit.
7) Top finishers will be paid out for every 5 players in a flight .... 5-9 players will only pay one place ($250.00) 10-14 players will pay two places ($250.00/$125.00), 15-19 players will place three places ($250.00, $125.00, $75.00), 20-24 players will pay four places ($275.00, $150.00, $100.00, $75.00). Points will be rewarded for every 3 participants, if there are only 9 players, points will be rewarded 5,4,3- no 4th or 5th place points would be rewarded. if there are 18 players, 5th & 6th will both get 1 point, if there are 21 players, 5, 6, & 7 will get 1 point.
8). TOP 25 & ties qualify (more participation). Anyone who participates in all events will automatically qualify for the Top 25 .... If they do not qualify on points, they will be required to pay $125.00 to play in the event and this covers their green fee & entry fee.
9). TOP 25 score board: award the top 10 players.... goal is more participation to gain advantage in winning the top 25 (paid $2800.00 last year). This year we will reward 1st & 2nd 2.5 stokes, 3rd-4th 2 strokes, 5th-6th 1.5 stokes, 7th-8th 1 stoke, 9th-10th .5 stokes.... Fed Ex style bonus points.
10). If an event is cancelled, no one will be penalized if they are not able to make rescheduled date if we elect to reschedule.... it will not count as an event played but you will not earn any points.
11). Participation points: 5 points for entering event/pay no play will now be 4 pts (NEW THIS YEAR)- Pay no Play (PNP) is now $40.00 per event/unlimited times.
12). EOY Tournament requirements: 8 total events/ minimum 6 handicap events.
13) EOY 2 day point total for the top 5 will be 5, 4, 3, 2, 1- so you can earn 25 points in the event instead of 30 (last year) .... plenty of events to earn points and BONUS POINTS.
14) Scoring system- automatic system is the goal (Danny, Rich & Charles).
NOTES:
* Ball will be played down everywhere except bunkers, * Ball must be holed out, or you get a handicap 10 on the hole. *Sand traps: Voted: bunkers not consistent/ rake and place everywhere (grip).
*Hole in 1 Pot: $25.00 for returning members/ $50.00 for new members (5K payout was voted on), * Membership dues: $75.00 returning, $100.00 new members.
*Separate Skins game $40.00 every tournament, if no one Wins a skin, the pot will carry over to the next tournament, and only those who participated for that week can re-enter the following week.
*SET- for New Members: (70 is the lowest net score for setters until handicap is established. Handicaps for new members are adjusted after each tournament played, until they are in the USGA handicap system. The initial first three rounds will be inputted three times each tournament, * The lowest adjusted handicap will always prevail through the initial three-round qualifying period, after which, the USGA handicap system will adjust each handicap up or down.
*Skins game: you will be setting a handicap each of the first (3) rounds and will use the updated handicap for the skins game until you have an established handicap.
*REGISTRATION- 16-day registration for tournaments. Golf courses are requiring us to pay for all participants 14 days in advance with player list. it allows them to fill the course behind us and not leave open slots with the expectation we will have more players.
*Payment- Zelle with email (millergolfclub2025@gmail.com) or QR code or check in advance.... If you plan to use a check, I recommend sending in at least 3 weeks in advance... We all know mail is slow.
*Zelle process: if you have your bank app on your phone... once you get into your account, you can click pay & transfer, then you should have an option to transfer using Zelle, then click QR code or scan to pay afterwards, your camera should automatically open and you just scan the QR code. It will then go directly to Miller Golf Club, and you can select how much you want to send, from the account you want to send it from, and you can add a memo. Please note: the memo does not show up on our end so please send an entry note saying you entered with Zelle.
*Miller Bank: If you have money already in your account and want to register using those funds, please go the registration page on our Miller Website and select bank as payment fund.
